À PROPOS

The Espace Constantin Chariot, which will open in September 2024, is taking over the ground floor of the ATOMA building built in 1924 in Forest (Brussels), a vast 4,000 m² industrial complex that saw the birth of the famous rolling notebook with detachable sheets of the same name. This art gallery is structured around the creation of a veritable "artists' hive" that will eventually house around ten temporary residences, a permanent workshop, as well as a coliving space located in the adjacent house. This center of living creation works closely with the ECC, which is also its showcase.

Founder: Constantin Chariot

Born in Brussels in 1971, Constantin Chariot is a Belgian art historian who was notably curator of the Museums of Liège, director of the Pierre Bergé et Associés auction house, and co-founder, in 2015, of the art gallery "La Patinoire Royale", also in Brussels.

Combining various experiences in finance and cultural consulting, he has now chosen to open his own space, which is neither a gallery, nor an art center, nor a museum, but all three at once, seeking to break down barriers between statuses, functions and expressions through a multidisciplinary artistic program, the ECC offering, in addition to plastic art and design exhibitions, one-off events involving music, theater, dance, cinema, etc. The ECC therefore also intends to be a permanent and visitable place of creation, in close connection with European art schools and galleries, a true community of artists, collectors and art lovers, open to the world.
